2008 Boarding Rates

 

Horses at Ferrell Hollow Farm spend all of their time outdoors and have access to Run-In Sheds with enclosed storage rooms. They are separated in the sheds while fed to ensure that every horse eats their own ration.

Pasture Boarding rates for Senior, Special Needs horses begins at $225 per month per horse. The exact rate will be determined by the Farm depending on the special needs of the horse.

 

Monthly Boarding will include:

• Daily grain feedings

• Quality Hay as needed

• Grooming (see separate list for details)

• Blanketing

• Fly Masks

• Administering Supplements

(Owner is responsible for costs of blankets, masks and supplements)

Farm Owner reserves the right to recommend a change in Level of Care and boarding rate to Horse Owner as the horses needs change and for the best interest of the horse.

 

Special Needs

The Farm has the ability to work with the following special needs:

• Arthritis

• Cushings

• Dentally Challenged

• Insulin Resistance

• Navicular

• Thin, Poor Condition

 

Worming

Horses will be wormed every 2 months. Horse Owner will be responsible for cost of wormer and the Farm will administer wormer to horse.

 

Farrier

  • Horses will be trimmed/shod on the Farm’s farrier schedule
  • Owner will be responsible for these costs
  • Owner will be billed a handling fee for bringing up and attending to horse for farrier

 

Veterinarian

Horses will need to be current on the following before admission to the Farm is permissible:

  • Negative Coggins Test, Tetanus, Flu, Rhino, Rabies, E/W Encephalitis, West Nile
  • Dentistry: All horses teeth will need to be checked a minimum of once per year either by the Farm’s veterinarian or equine dentist.
  • Owner will be billed a handling fee for bringing up the horse for routine veterinarian and dentist appointments.

 

Emergency Veterinarian Care

If a horse becomes injured or should require veterinarian care, owner will be responsible and billed for all related costs to include vet bills, medical supplies and Farm handling charges.

 

Stall Rate

Should a horse need a stall due to injury, rest, lameness or otherwise determined by Farm or veterinarian, the owner will be billed at the Farm’s rate of per-day usage.

 

Facility Usage

Ferrell Hollow Farm is a retirement facility. In order to maintain the quiet, peaceful setting no horseback riding is permitted on the grounds.
